The small print

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026. Terra Archive collects only what a working geologist would record in a field notebook.

1. What we collect

When you contact the curators or subscribe to Earth Weekly, we record the email address and message you provide. When you browse the archive, our hosting provider may log standard request data (IP address, user agent, timestamps) for security and uptime.

2. How we use it

Correspondence is used to reply to you. Subscription email addresses are used only to deliver Earth Weekly. We do not sell or rent your data; we do not share it with third parties for cross-site advertising.

3. Cookies & local storage

The archive does not set tracking cookies. We may use a single first-party preference entry in your browser's local storage to remember your screen position on the homepage. This never leaves your device.

4. Third-party resources

Fonts load from Google Fonts, 3D rendering from Three.js on jsDelivr, and animation from Anime.js on jsDelivr. These CDNs may log requests independently of us. Images from Unsplash may set their own headers.

5. Your rights

You may request a copy of any data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.

6. Children

The archive is written for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us correspondence, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Changes

We will update this page if our practices change. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent revision.
